Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Aftercare Instructor for our afterschool program at Beit Rabban Day School! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can create a fun, structured, and supportive environment during the afterschool hours.

The Aftercare Instructor will work with pre school-aged students, assisting with and leading a variety of activities, games, enrichment opportunities, and daily aftercare routines. Depending on program needs, instructors may serve in either an assisting or lead capacity.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with and lead engaging, age-appropriate aftercare activities.
  • Supervise students and maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment.
  • Support students during games, projects, enrichment activities, and other structured or recreational programming.
  • Help facilitate smooth transitions between activities and dismissal.
  • Implement activities provided by the program while also bringing creativity and enthusiasm to daily programming.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and administrative staff to manage student progress and behavioral expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding student and program-related matters.
  • Utilize company-wide digital platforms to perform administrative tasks, such as taking attendance and submitting incident reports.
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and spaces.
This is you:
  • Experience working with students, preferably pre-school and elementary age.
  • Energetic, patient, reliable, and comfortable engaging with groups of children.
  • Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
  • Able to take initiative and confidently lead activities when needed.
  • Flexible and able to adapt activities based on student needs and interests.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and positive afterschool environment.
The Schedule:
  • Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Time: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Candidates should be able to consistently commit to both scheduled program days.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children in an educational, afterschool, camp, childcare, coaching, or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and engage elementary-aged students.
  • Reliable and able to consistently commit to the program schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an afterschool or school-based program.
  • Experience leading activities or managing groups of elementary-aged students.
  • Experience with classroom or behavior management.
  • Interest or experience in youth development, education, recreation, or a related field.
