Job Title:
DF AY26/27 Catholic Liturgy Assistant
Job Description:
Summary: The Office of University Ministry (UMin) creates a welcoming environment in which all members of our campus community can feel safe and confident exploring and deepening their faith traditions and spiritual practices. As part of the University Ministry team, the Catholic Liturgy Assistant will provide specific support for Catholic masses, liturgies and the spaces of the St. John Francis Regis Chapel. Applicants must have at least one year of prior experience as a sacristan/ altar server/ or liturgical minister, preferably at Regis. This position is funded for a maximum of 4 hours/week.
The Student Minister for Liturgy Support will:
o Serve as a sacristan for at least one daily mass/week
o May be asked to sacristan at a Sunday evening mass
o Serve as an altar server during Sunday masses as needed (training provided)
o Care for altar linens (washing, ironing and folding weekly)
o Learn to expose the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration and be available to support Adoration and/or Holy Hour
o Support pro-staff in preparing liturgical environments in the chapel
o Organize chapel supplies as needed
o May support music ministry as needed
o Attend monthly All-Staff gatherings with entire UMin Team
o Support large-scale UMin events such as Mass of the Holy Spirit or Fall Fest
o Perform general office duties as needed

• Answer questions, both directional and informational, in a friendly, patient manner
• Communicate clearly, efficiently, and respectfully both in-person and electronically
• Utilize MS Office Suite, including Office 365, Canva and Google Suite occasionally
• Work collaboratively with other student ministers, staff and other departments
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Students in this role must be baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church
• Prior experience as an altar server, liturgical minister or sacristan in the Roman Catholic Church required
• Interest in learning about and supporting Roman Catholic liturgies
• Student must possess the ability to learn new tasks and work independently with limited supervision.
• Student must have some flexibility with schedule as the role requires some Sunday hours and occasional weeknights.
