Job description

General Summary

The Field Service Representative plays a vital role as the bridge between the job site and Sunrock’s core teams—Dispatch, Sales, Quality Control, and Operations. Acting as Sunrock’s on-site representative, this role ensures customer needs and company standards are consistently met, from product quality and safety to truck efficiency and jobsite coordination.

This position focuses primarily on large-scale projects where strong field presence and customer partnership are critical. The representative ensures seamless communication, proactive issue resolution, and service adjustments in real time to keep projects running smoothly.

Training & Development

New team members will begin with a 2–3 month training program covering:

  • Quality Control

  • Concrete Operations

  • Concrete Dispatch

  • Sales

This cross-functional exposure is designed to set you up for success by building a strong foundation across Sunrock’s operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion safety practices on every jobsite, ensuring compliance with Sunrock, MSHA, and OSHA standards.

  • Conduct site inspections to prepare jobs and confirm dispatch schedules.

  • Serve as the on-site problem solver, managing customer expectations and resolving issues quickly.

  • Provide real-time updates to Dispatch to prevent over/under servicing.

  • Support and coach drivers on safety, site conditions, and unloading practices.

  • Monitor product quality through testing (slumps, cylinders, admixtures) and communicate with Quality Control on adjustments.

  • Document and report unusual site conditions that could impact performance.

  • Partner with Sales to gather customer insights and identify new opportunities.

  • Act as a Sunrock ambassador—leading by example and upholding company standards.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong communication skills—able to connect with customers, teams, and crews effectively.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, informed decisions on the job.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environments with early mornings, late evenings, and emergency response needs.

  • Solid technical skills, including math, reporting, and intermediate computer proficiency.

  • Educational background: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.

Certifications & Requirements
  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License (required)

  • Ability to obtain:

    • NCDOT Concrete Quality Control Technician

    • ACI Level I Technician
