Material Handler / Forklift Operator
Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time, 7:30am start, M-F
Aetna Building Solutions is seeking a dependable Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Indianapolis, IN.
Founded in 1937, Aetna Building Solutions is a leading Midwest distributor of plywood, hardwood lumber, decorative surfaces, composite panels, and building materials. With multiple locations and over 130 employees, we support residential and commercial construction projects across the region by providing high-quality products and dependable service.
This position plays a key role in daily warehouse operations by safely moving, storing, and handling materials while ensuring accurate order fulfillment and maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and rail shipments
  • Use handheld scanners to receive, store, and pick inventory
  • Accurately pick and prepare customer orders for shipment
  • Organize and maintain inventory within the warehouse
  • Sort, stack, and safely store materials in designated areas
  • Break down freight and re-band pallets as needed
  • Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections
  • Assist will-call customers and safely load materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of warehouse experience
  • 1+ years of Forklift experience (certification is a plus)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with moderate noise and varying weather conditions
  • Active driverโ€™s license
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift
  • Periods of sitting while operating warehouse equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, and move 75 lbs.
