Mon-Friday 7am - 3:30pm  |  Comp: $35 - $40 per hour  |  Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

Join a precision-driven aerospace manufacturing team in Tacoma, WA as an Aerospace Tooling Inspector. You'll own dimensional inspection using Laser Tracker systems (Leica, Faro) and play a direct role in keeping tooling, fixtures, and assemblies compliant with aerospace quality standards. This is a hands-on role with real impact — your work keeps critical programs on spec and on schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Perform dimensional inspection of aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies using Laser Tracker systems
  • Conduct 3D measurement and alignment verification against engineering specifications and CAD models
  • Develop and execute inspection plans from engineering drawings
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and quality documentation
  • Perform tool certifications and re-certifications
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action (RCA/CAPA) activities
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve tooling discrepancies
  • Maintain calibration records and proper care of metrology equipment

What You Bring

Required:

  • 3+ years of aerospace tooling inspection experience
  • Hands-on Laser Tracker operation (Leica, Faro, or equivalent)
  • Strong GD&T knowledge and blueprint/engineering drawing interpretation
  • Experience with metrology software such as Verisurf
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Technical degree or certification in metrology, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience with aircraft tooling types: molds, trim tools, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies
  • Familiarity with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD platforms

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on an active production floor around large tooling structures
  • Lift up to 25 lbs; stand for extended periods

What We Offer Upon Conversion

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Clear career growth paths in a dynamic aerospace environment

Why Apply?

Tacoma's aerospace sector is growing, and this role puts you at the intersection of precision technology and real manufacturing impact. If you have Laser Tracker expertise and a sharp eye for quality, we want to hear from you.
