Position Overview
Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Pay Rate: $51.53 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, analysis, evaluation, and certification of advanced aerospace structures and systems. From highly integrated aircraft and mission payloads to orbital and space exploration technologies, your work will directly support the development of innovative solutions that advance the aerospace industry.
You'll leverage engineering principles, analytical methods, and advanced simulation tools to ensure structural integrity, performance, and safety throughout the product lifecycle.
What You'll Do
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will:
  • Design, analyze, and evaluate complex metallic and composite aerospace structures
  • Support the development of innovative aerospace and defense products from concept through production and certification
  • Perform structural assessments using engineering fundamentals and analytical methods
  • Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses to evaluate performance and reliability
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to support product development efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, testing, and systems engineering
  • Analyze and validate structural performance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop engineering solutions that meet technical, operational, and regulatory requirements
  • Support airframe design and structural development initiatives
  • Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and substantiation packages
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and design methodologies
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Or a related engineering discipline
  • Typically 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary design and development teams
  • Exposure to Static Analysis and/or Dynamic Analysis methodologies
  • Knowledge of aerospace design and structural engineering fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are highly encouraged to apply:
  • Engineering simulation experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as:
    • MSC Patran
    • Nastran
    • FEMAP
    • ANSYS
  • Experience performing:
    • Airframe structural analysis

  • Familiarity with industry tools including:
