Overview

Industry: Aerospace/Defense

Position: Source Inspection

Location: Houston, TX

Frequency: 1 visit per quarter - 1099

Duration: 12 months, potentially longer

Support inspection of Mechanical Parts at a supplier in Houston, Texas.

Inspector is required to visit the site as required (approx once a quarter) to conduct the inspection of mechanical parts.

  • Must have experience with Aerospace and/or Defence industry.
  • For Mechanical Parts, need to have experience with the Mechanical endurance theory and painting + chemical treatments.
  • Strong hands-on inspection experience, using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge/experience of AS9100 standards
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have a laptop or personal computer and a mobile phone

The task will include:

  • Visual, documentation and packaging checks
  • Reading mechanical drawings and understanding the drawing standard
  • Part serialisation checks
  • Dimensional inspection of an AQL-sized sample of parts
  • Review and approval (stamp-off) of paperwork, traceability and packaging
  • Complete QC reports and reports according to customer requirements
