What is aerospace source inspection?

Aerospace source inspection is a quality assurance process where an inspector examines parts, materials, or assemblies at the supplier’s location before they are shipped to the customer or end user. The purpose is to verify that products meet specific aerospace industry standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This process helps prevent defective or non-conforming parts from entering the supply chain, ensuring safety and compliance. Aerospace source inspectors typically review documentation, perform visual and dimensional inspections, and may witness testing procedures as part of their duties.
