Information on the division:
Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Hรฉroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.
As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer's main responsibility is to support Quality assurance and inspection requirements for the commercial Aerospace contracts with support to military programs as needed. They will also maintain and lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main responsibilities:
  • Establish rapport and be a primary liaison and quality interface with the production floor. Support RCCA investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and track inputs and outputs of NCRs in NMS to ensure parts are returned to production expeditiously, i.e., initiate NCR, approval, submittals (on customer paper if required), rework router approval, RCCA, scrap, and closure.
  • Support MRB quarantine management for non-conforming parts.
  • Perform NCR data analysis for trends and issue CAPA for repeat findings. Follow-up and track completion.
  • Based on product trends, support Quality Assurance Manager with MRB information for corrective action board (CAB).
  • Provide FAI support to Quality Control.
  • Act as MRB QA representative to review and approve manufacturing plans, technical documentation, and NCR rework plans.
  • Support Quality manager in the Development of Quality Plans that meet Customer, Regulatory and HDI QMS requirements as needed.
  • Support in-house AS9100 QMS and Special Process audit schedule as needed.
  • Support preparation and participate in 3rd audits as needed.
  • Develop and provide training related to quality or other needs as identified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to work constructively within teams, focused on problem solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Previous customer relations experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight timelines.
  • Strong ability to make quality decisions while remaining customer focused.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
