KBR's Science and Space division is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support Axiom Space and their Safety and Mission Assurance department.
Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining quality systems and processes to ensure aerospace products and operations meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role leads root-cause analysis, corrective action activities, audits, supplier quality efforts, nonconformance resolutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection standards, and quality system documentation.
  • Lead root-cause investigations using methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or 8D.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and track closure of nonconformances.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external/customer/regulatory audits.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with engineering and suppliers to address material or process issues and improve supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to resolve quality problems.
  • Support compliance with AS9100, FAA, and customer quality requirements.
  • Assist with product and process qualification, inspection planning, and technical documentation review.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Requirements:
    • 7+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or another regulated industry.
    • Strong knowledge of AS9100, audit processes, and corrective action systems.
    • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED minimum with 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience or a Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical field
  • Years of Experience: 7+ of related experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with supplier quality, process improvement or process development.
  • ASQ certification such as CQE or CQA preferred.
