A technology-focused firm specializing in high-performance suspension systems and components, primarily serving the motorsports and automotive industries. The company is known for engineering advanced shock absorbers and custom solutions designed to enhance vehicle handling, durability, and overall ride performance.
Job Description: Designs and develops isolators and systems to support customer requirements. Engineer works closely with purchasing, production, testing, and quality to ensure all requirements are met and documented from design and development through sustained production phases.
Responsibilities:
* Extracting and understanding customer requirements from technical drawings, specifications, standards, etc.
* Is responsible for management of projects during development and sustained production.
* Follows defined procedures to ensure customer requirements are documented and met through design, prototyping, testing, and inspection.
* Design and development using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to generate solid models, assemblies, and drawings
* Perform initial and ongoing design reviews
* Review test data to determine if performance specifications are met and make recommendations to adjust elastomer or isolator design to address failures
* Manages bill of materials and standard production routings while maintaining configuration management throughout the product life cycle
* Interface daily with Production, Testing, Purchasing, and Quality to manage ongoing projects.
* Interface closely with customers to provide support during projects.
* Work closely with Business Development and Sales to provide technical support and solutions to both new and existing customers
* Learn to use company proprietary software to analyze shock/vibration problems and recommend solutions to customers
* Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Salary Range $100,000 - $120,000
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required
* Ability to interpret blueprints and other technical drawings that detail product specifications
Skills:
Must have Detailed knowledge and experience in design for manufacture and assembly concepts
* Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and practices related to quality planning
* AS9100D or ISO 9001; 2015 background a plus
* Mechanical aptitude, ability to analyze application requirements, provide failure analysis, select components, and make recommendations to meet system requirements
* Proficiency in 3D CAD Mechanical software is required. Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred
* Strong customer service skills managing multiple clients in a high-volume and fast-paced manufacturing environment
