Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Aerospace Manufacturing | Direct Hire | 

Ready for a stable role? Seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support daily logistics, inventory flow, and customer shipment operations. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on shipping & receiving experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments who understand the importance of material traceability, documentation accuracy, and inventory control. 

Candidates with plating, aerospace manufacturing, metal finishing, or precision machining experience are strongly preferred. SteelCore 

Job Description

Shipping

  • Prepare and process customer shipments in compliance with aerospace documentation requirements.
  • Use SteelCore ERP Software to track the entire life cycle of heavy metal processing, from raw melt shop operations and "heat-wise" chemical tracking to final product distribution.
  • Coordinate Outside Services (O/S) processing and shipments to external vendors.
  • Review and correct certifications and shipping documentation prior to shipment release.
  • Develop and prepare secure packaging for aerospace components.
  • Validate that all paperwork, certifications, and documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Initiate certification packages and schedule carrier pickups.
  • Safely load outgoing shipments.
  • Work with production, quality, and customer teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Receiving

  • Reconcile physical inventory shipments against automated SteelCore ERP data by validating backflushed material consumption metrics during the receiving and dispatch stages to eliminate stock discrepancies.
  • Perform Purchase Order (PO) verification and documentation review.
  • Conduct accurate quantity verification and inventory counts.
  • Investigate shipping damage, shortages, or receiving discrepancies.
  • Interface with customers when receiving documentation issues arise.
  • Safely unload incoming materials and shipments.
  • Retrieve and review blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Generate and apply product labels and identification tags.
  • Maintain product hold areas when required by quality procedures.
  • Track and manage customer-furnished gages and materials.
  • Follow technical procedures, work instructions, and production flowcharts.
  • Prepare and stage materials for production operations.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Shipping & Receiving experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Purchase Order verification, material check-in, and inventory counting.
  • Proven experience working within an ERP environment (such as SteelCore) utilizing backflush logic to track material consumption, with a strong understanding of how automated deductions impact physical warehouse stock.
  • Experience using RF scanners or inventory scanning systems.
  • Strong understanding of material traceability and documentation accuracy.
  • Experience with reporting systems such as Microsoft Power BI preferred.
  • Ability to review technical documents or blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace plating or metal finishing operations.
  • Forklift Experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish / English.
  • Experience coordinating outside processing vendors or subcontract services.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move materials throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing production environment.
