Supporting our first-of-a-kind engineered solutions, this role will tackle unique challenges and help PAR deliver premier engineering support that is unparalleled in our industry. At PAR, we're delivering advanced automation, controls systems and AI solutions on a variety of industrial machinery. From robots to rockets, COVID-fighting med-tech to cranes, our teams are busy delivering ingenious solutions for our customers. We're seeking multiple Field Service Engineers to gain firsthand career building experience with technologies such as PLCs, robots, servo motors, VFDs, computer vision and more.
Success Criteria:
As a continuous learner, you'll spend the first 6-12 months learning the role of a controls engineer and beginning to apply those learnings through mentorship at various customer sites. This role will help you take theory to practice as you dive in with our engineering teams to learn how we design, build and support an endless variety of cutting-edge technology.

Bringing your curious mind, strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering challenges around the world will help you hit the ground running. Some of key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Working with our customers to understand their technical specifications
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and modernizing automation equipment in material handling, robotics, aerospace, environmental and other applications.
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Evaluating and recommending repairs to customers
  • Onsite customer installs of new equipment and upgrades

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor in a relevant Engineering discipline (i.e. mechanical, electrical, controls)
  • Relevant experience or knowledge gained through previous employment or internships is preferred (i.e., PC/PLC/Robot programming, electrical design packages, designing control systems, or machine vision).
  • Experience with any commercial PLC packages (Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens, etc.), robot packages (Fanuc, Epson, Kuka, etc.) or machine vision (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) are preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to set your own course without oversight
  • High attention to detail and ownership of work
  • Strong organizational, communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Interest in electromechanical systems, mechatronics, and automation and desire to learn (new programming languages, new standards, new customers, etc.)
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (typically no more than 50%, but on rare occasions may fluctuate up to 75% depending on business needs)
