Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join a dynamic team in the Twin Cities. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and supervising the implementation of mechanical systems and components for various architectural and engineering projects. Your leadership and mentorship will be crucial in fostering the development of emerging engineers and achieving departmental success.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise
  • Evaluate and authorize heat load calculations.
  • Apply ASHRAE standards, International Plumbing Code, and VA TIL standards in projects.
  • Lead HVAC design efforts using Trane3D Plus or HAP software.
  • Mentor and review high-temperature pipe stress analyses using AutoPipe.
  • Guide plumbing system assessments in compliance with local codes.
  • Utilize and mentor team in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) for mechanical and plumbing design modifications.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines using Revit for integrated project designs.
  • Employ Lidar scans and BlueBeam Revu for enhanced project documentation.
  • Craft and mentor the development of comprehensive project narratives.
Collaborative Roles
  • Effectively present models and designs during review sessions.
  • Enhance drafting efficiency and accuracy within the department.
  • Conduct site visits for documentation and client engagement.
  • Partner with Project Managers to develop project timelines, budgets, and strategies.
  • Assist in composing project narratives and establishing design guidelines.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Professional Engineer.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with energy load software like Trane3D Plus or HAP.
