Plansee USA in Franklin, MA is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager for our Aerospace and Defense division. The ideal candidate will be able to manage complex and multifaceted projects and dynamics. Someone with knowledge of aerospace and defense applications would be preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and ensure the success of Sales and Marketing strategies for PLANSEE's High Performance Materials products and services for Aerospace and Defense business segments within PLANSEE' s defined region within the USA and Canada.

  • Provide commercial management to customers relating to price, terms, evaluation, and delivery. Educate customers on PLANSEE's materials, capabilities, and technical expertise along with our Digitalization Tools (My Plansee, Plansee Online Shop).

  • Capable of working in a team environment with engineers, production, and other technical personnel to come up with solutions to benefit the customer. Works with product management, inside sales, and outside sales representatives to overcome challenges and pain points of prospective customers. Keeps account roadmap activities and literature up to date.

  • Strategically navigate complex Aerospace & Defense market requirements and provide innovative solutions that positively position Plansee as market demands expand.

  • Coordinate with colleagues across US sites representing other Aerospace & Defense market verticals to ensure quick dissemination of market information and effective Sales team collaboration.

  • Collaborate with Global teams to meet customer's unique material needs for cutting edge Aerospace & Defense applications.

  • Introduce and execute strategic goals in collaboration with the Business Division North America Managers to ensure growth within Aerospace and Defense Business Segments.

  • Prepares customer conversation reports within CRM (Customer Relationship Management) including customer visits, calls, and emails regularly. Provide monthly and quarterly reviews of sales, travel summaries and analysis of account growth, profitability, potential, and forecast.

  • Responsible creating Marketing intelligence by updating CCM (Customer Competitor Matrix) regularly

  • Provide data for the annual planning procedure and set targets for the annual budget.

  • Increase current customer base by initiating contact with prospective customers for adding new technical capabilities and diversifying our product offering along with promoting Plansee Digital Tools.

  • Participation in industry trades shows and conferences, sales meetings, and periodic planned visits to Global headquarters in Austria and other PLANSEE facilities throughout the world as required.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of directly related experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum five to seven years industrial sales and marketing experience in a business-to- business environment.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of SAP R/3 sales module desired.
  • Proven leadership abilities, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstration of strong written and verbal communication skills as well as effective interaction at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and prospects.
  • Ability to solve complex problems that may arise in support of satisfying customer demands.
  • Familiarity with Market Intelligence Tools such as CRM and CCM.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time, domestically and internationally to increase sales within assigned market units.
  • Ability to meet requirements to work on ITAR and export control restricted projects.

The base compensation for this position is between 90-120k annually, commensurate with skill and experience level. This role will also be bonus eligible.
