Job Description

Seeking an Industrial Engineer to support production planning, operational analysis, process improvement, and manufacturing optimization activities within aerospace and production environments. This role focuses on improving efficiency, workflow, scheduling, capacity planning, and operational performance through data-driven analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze production and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency, cost, flow, and quality

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work methods, and resource utilization strategies

  • Support production planning, workload balancing, line flow analysis, and capacity assessments

  • Conduct time studies, process mapping, and standard work development

  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and lean improvement opportunities

  • Support implementation of process improvements, work instructions, and operational changes

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve process and production issues

  • Support schedule adherence, productivity tracking, and operational performance reporting

  • Develop Aurora models to support production planning and schedule analysis

  • Create precedence networks and maintain production schedules for operational planning

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to process inefficiencies

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field

  • Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production support, or operations improvement

  • Experience supporting aerospace, NASA, or high-volume production programs

  • Experience analyzing workflows, production systems, and operational processes

  • Experience using data-driven methods for planning and process improvement

  • Experience generating Aurora models and production schedules

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access or security requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with capacity analysis, workload balancing, and production planning

  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing or launch operations environments

  • Experience supporting Kennedy Space Center operations

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

Education / Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master's degree). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, but not required.
