Job description

Your Opportunity:

At PLACE, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup, on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, and our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.

This is YOUR CHANCE to shape the backbone of a company that's scaling rapidly and innovating boldly. As our Director of Marketing, AEO Operations, you'll partner with the co-founder of Maestro Marketing Services, founders, and executives to own Online Reputation Management (ORM) - monitoring, influencing, and shaping how our brands are perceived across search, social, and AI platforms (AEO/GEO) by ensuring accurate, helpful content is what people (and AI systems) find. If you thrive in complexity, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and believe in scaling through tech and AI, this is your PLACE.

Who Develops You: Co-founder, Maestro Marketing Services

What You're Great At:

You've built and run brand content and reputation programs at scale - across many brands or many clients at once - and you know how to keep quality high without adding headcount for every new brand. You understand how large language models synthesize brand content, and you can speak fluently about entity optimization, structured data, and citation-quality content formats. You have sharp editorial instincts: you know the difference between content that earns trust in a community like Reddit and content that reads as an ad, and you calibrate tone accordingly. You're comfortable being the in-house expert on a discipline that's still new to most executives - educating stakeholders, setting standards, and making the case for investment. You like ambiguity, you like testing new tactics, and you know how to turn a fuzzy mandate into a repeatable, accountable process.

What You'll Do:

  • Own end-to-end ORM strategy and execution across 30+ real estate agent-facing and consumer-facing brands
  • Hold ultimate accountability for program outcomes - sentiment, visibility, and content accuracy across brands
  • Build and manage a content creation engine spanning multiple channels per brand - social (including Meta and Reddit), owned & partner web properties, video, and more
  • Optimize brand visibility across search and AI answer engines (AEO)
  • Partner with marketing teams across brands to align content and messaging strategy
  • Manage execution through scalable processes, virtual assistants, and contractors
  • Define and track AEO-specific KPIs, including AI citation frequency, sentiment accuracy in AI-generated summaries, and brand representation across Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity
  • Work with our data team to build scalable reporting that tracks sentiment, visibility, and content performance at scale (AEO reporting experience a plus)
  • Design and implement scalable processes and workflows so the program can grow without linear headcount increases
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to active negative narratives across search, social, and AI platforms - knowing when to engage, how to seed authentic counter-narratives, and when to let content run
  • Develop and maintain editorial standards for externally branded content, with particular attention to earning trust in community-driven channels like Reddit and social without feeling like traditional advertising

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years in marketing management roles, with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Experience managing brand content at portfolio scale - either multi-brand in-house or agency-side across multiple clients simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of how large language models synthesize brand content and what drives AI-generated responses - including entity optimization, structured data, and citation-quality content formats
  • Strong editorial judgment, with specific experience calibrating tone for community-driven platforms
  • Proven ability to define and track AEO-specific metrics and build reporting frameworks in a space where industry-standard tools are still emerging
  • Experience with SEO and/or AEO
  • A track record of building processes and SOPs that keep teams accountable, projects on track, and KPIs growing
  • Experience managing execution across many simultaneous tasks - through technology, contractors, VAs, or distributed teams
  • An appetite for testing new tactics and solving ambiguous, complex problems
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate impact directly to executive leadership
  • Comfort serving as the internal subject matter expert on AEO - educating stakeholders, setting standards, and building the case for investment
  • Real estate industry experience a plus

Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000/year depending on experience

Why PLACE:

We believe people do their best work when they're trusted, supported, and surrounded by others who are equally driven. Our competitive benefits include PTO as needed, comprehensive insurance coverage, a 401(k) match, stock option grants, and a stock purchase plan. Every team member is an owner, building the "PLACE" they are proud to call "my company."
