This role sets the direction on where to invest, optimize and test then translates those decisions into a clear directive for the team executes against. This role also owns the relationships with marketplace advertising partners (Amazon, Walmart Connect, and others), using those relationships and platform roadmaps to stay ahead of new ad products, betas, and investment opportunities. Deep fluency in the advertising consoles is essential: this person knows what each platform can and cannot do and builds strategy that maps to real optimizations. The ideal candidate pairs marketplace advertising expertise with solid people leadership and a test-and-learn mindset that scales as Gorilla Commerce expands its omnichannel footprint.

About Gorilla Commerce

What We Do: We’re a leading e-commerce company focused on creating high-quality, affordable products that make everyday life easier.

Scale & Footprint: Headquartered in Norwalk, CT, Gorilla Commerce is a Top 10 Amazon U.S. seller with rapid growth and expanding into an omnichannel presence.

Industry Differentiator: Known for our flagship brand, Gorilla Grip, we combine creativity with data-driven insights to deliver obsession-worthy products.

Culture Highlights: Fast-paced, collaborative, and customer-focused environment where innovation and growth thrive.

Impressive Growth: We’re a rapidly growing e-commerce company with ambitious plans to expand our reach and evolve into a true omnichannel business.

What You'll Do
  • Set marketplace advertising strategy: Own on-platform advertising strategy across Amazon, Walmart, and other emerging marketplaces — defining where to invest, where to pull back, and how spend maps to growth and profitability goals by category and product lifecycle stage.
  • Own marketplace partner relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target Plus, and other marketplace advertising partners; leverage those relationships to surface new ad products, betas, and investment opportunities, and bring platform roadmap intelligence back into planning.
  • Drive the test-and-learn roadmap: Define the testing agenda — identify what is worth A/B testing (creative, bids, targeting, placements, dayparting, new ad formats), prioritize the roadmap by expected impact, and set clean success criteria and read-out standards so results are trusted and actionable.
  • Lead and direct the execution team: Translate strategy into clear, prioritized execution briefs for two remote campaign specialists; delegate build and optimization work, review execution for quality, unblock issues, and ensure changes ship on time.
  • Manage and develop remote talent: Manage, coach, and develop two remote campaign/execution specialists — setting goals, giving feedback, and building a high-performing, accountable team.
  • Recommend investment for leadership approval: Develop advertising investment recommendations — budget levels, reallocation, and efficiency targets (ACoS / TACoS / ROAS) — and present them to leadership for approval; execute approved spend and monitor pacing and efficiency against plan.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Creative, and Merchandise Planning to align advertising with launches, pricing, promotions, and inventory, and to connect ad performance to organic rank and total marketplace performance.
  • Scale with AI and automation: Champion AI and automation in the advertising workflow — adopting tooling that scales campaign monitoring, measurement, and optimization as the catalog and channel count grow.

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in marketplace or digital advertising, with hands-on ownership of Amazon Advertising and Walmart Connect campaigns; Roundel or other advertising experience a plus.
  • Expert, hands-on knowledge of advertising campaign architecture, bidding, targeting, match types, budgets, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success building and running a structured test-and-learn / A/B testing program that drove measurable efficiency or growth gains.
  • Experience directly managing people, preferably remote and/or globally distributed employees, with a track record of developing high performers.
  • Experience owning or external partner relationships.
  • Strong command of advertising performance metrics (ACoS, TACoS, ROAS) and the ability to tie spend decisions to growth, profitability, and organic rank.
  • Ability to translate strategy into clear execution briefs and hold a team accountable to quality and timelines.
  • Proficiency with AI productivity and automation tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to scale advertising workflows a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence leadership on investment decisions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams across a rapidly evolving marketplace environment.
  • Ownership mindset — deep accountability for advertising performance, team output, and partner relationships.
