Job description

Senior Strategic Planner

The Senior Strategic Planner is responsible for brand alignment with creative work and strategy. This role uses consumer insights in the multicultural space and utilizes social trends to present creative strategies to clients. This role will work with a government agency.

What you will do 

  • Develop brand strategies, write creative briefs, guide development and presentation of creative work
  • Brief and collaborate with creative, social, media, and account teams to ensure alignment of strategic direction and creative development
  • Bring audiences to life through passionate and authentic storytelling 
  • Develop full-funnel strategies to drive brand growth by identifying key audience insights, mapping audience journeys, and aligning creative and media tactics across awareness, consideration, and conversion stages to deliver cohesive, performance-driven campaigns
  • Recommends and implements research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic process
  • Design, conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative research studies for both insight generation and creative development 
  • Develops accurate and insightful conclusions from research data and presents strategy and direction to the client
  • Monitors and interprets cultural and social trends relevant to the client’s business
  • Lead and participate in new business strategies and present ideas at new business pitches 

Your experience   

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic/brand planning at a creative agency or on a creative brand
  • Advertising agency experience with segment experience targeting multicultural consumers with expertise in the Hispanic consumer mindset
  • Experienced using and interpreting syndicated research 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers, and cross-tabulated survey data to synthesize an agency point-of-view
  • Ability to effectively present research results to customers, clients, and other agency employees
  • Comfortable working with/without supporting teams
  • Ability to travel for client and agency meetings
