Description

The Junior Graphic Designer is a highly creative, detail-oriented designer who will support the Marketing & Communications team in developing compelling visual content that advances the mission and brand of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. This role will help execute creative assets across digital, print, social media, events, fundraising campaigns, and community initiatives.


The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling through design, thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment, and is eager to grow within a mission-driven organization.


Key Responsibilities:

Creative Design & Production

  • Design and produce visual assets for:
    • Social media campaigns
    • Email marketing
    • Digital advertising
    • Print collateral
    • Event signage and materials
    • Annual campaigns and stewardship initiatives
    • Presentations and branded templates
  • Support production and resizing of creative assets across multiple platforms and channels.
  • Ensure all work aligns with organizational brand standards and tone of voice.
  • Assist with photo selection, retouching, and basic video/motion graphic support when needed.
  • Prepare files for print production and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Brand & Campaign Support

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments, including philanthropy, community engagement, events, and programs.
  • Assist in bringing integrated marketing campaigns to life through cohesive visual storytelling.
  • Support high-visibility initiatives, including community campaigns, events, donor communications, and advocacy efforts.
  • Help maintain and evolve brand systems, templates, and asset libraries.


Team Collaboration & Project Management

  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and campaign concept development.
  • Incorporate feedback efficiently and professionally.
  • Stay informed on current design trends, nonprofit communications, and digital engagement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of graphic design experience, including internships or freelance work.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating digital and print design capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially:
    • InDesign
    • Illustrator
    • Photoshop
  • Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, and basic motion graphics/video editing is a plus.
  • Understanding of typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for mission-driven work and community impact.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with the Philadelphia Jewish community or Jewish communal organizations.
