Job description

Ad Operations & Account Manager

Position Summary:

The Ad Operations & Account Manager manages the advertising workflow from order to publication, making sure ads are built to spec, placed accurately and delivered on deadline. Alongside operations, this position manages a dedicated book of accounts across the Sky-Hi region (Grand County) and the Glenwood market, serving as the primary point of contact for those advertisers. The account work centers on relationship management and client service rather than cold sales, expanding into proactive outreach and account growth during special sections.

This position partners closely with the sales, design and production teams, spans several of our mountain markets and reports to the Advertising Director. It is well suited to an organized, detail-driven professional who excels in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage advertising operations from account set-up and ad ordering through proofing and creative approval
  • Keep advertising accurate, on schedule, and aligned with publication deadlines
  • Coordinate with the design team on creative, making minor ad updates independently
  • Serve as the key liaison between advertisers, account managers and the design team, resolving creative and placement issues quickly and professionally
  • Manage a dedicated book of accounts in the Sky-Hi region (Grand County) and the Glenwood market, serving as their primary point of contact
  • Conduct client outreach and new business prospecting as needed
  • Coordinate advertising for short- and long-term projects, including the daily paper, full digital solutions, magazines, special sections and events
  • Collaborate with sales, design and production peers and contribute in regular staff meetings

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional, responsive presence with both clients and colleagues
  • Self-directed and dependable, able to take ownership of tasks and follow through independently
  • Relevant experience in account management, customer service, advertising or media preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A sharp eye for design and hands-on ability to support ad layout; proficiency with InDesign preferred
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and the Google suite (particularly Excel), with the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within the mountain markets as needed
  • Previous sales experience desired

Pay range: Salary and commission-based compensation is $60k-$68k depending on experience and has unlimited bonus opportunities!
