Job Summary
Under the Supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director of External Operations, The Coordinator of Athletic Facilities and Game Day Operations oversees all aspects related to the management and coordination of athletic facilities and operations during game days. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of events and maintaining the facilities to provide a safe and functional environment for athletes, staff, and spectators.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the daily operations and maintenance of athletic facilities, including fields, courts,
stadiums, and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate facility improvements, repairs, and renovations as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for all athletic facilities.
• Work closely with University Facilities, Custodial and Grounds to coordinate needs for the athletic facilities.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for all game day events and activities.
• Collaborate with various departments such as athletics, campus police, concessions, and student affairs to ensure seamless execution.
• Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances during events.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for athletic teams, coaches, and staff regarding facility scheduling, setup, and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address concerns and resolve issues promptly.
• Supervise and coordinate all staff during home athletic events.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure staff are prepared to fulfill their roles effectively.
• Establish policies and procedures as it pertains to the use of all Athletic Department facilities.
• Oversee the scheduling and daily team usage of all Athletic Department facilities.
• Coordinate and manage game day operations for home athletic contests that include, but are not limited to, set-up and break down, and hosting visiting teams, officials, and game day staff.
• Collaborate with Campus Partners on contracts with external parties regarding usage of any athletics' facilities, team camps, admission events and other uses of the athletic facilities.
• Manage the hiring, training, and scheduling of interns, work-study, and part-time employees serving the facilities in both daily and event positions.
• Work Closely with Assistant Athletic Director of External Operations to develop strategy and
prepare an effective and safe gameday experience.
The Coordinator of Athletic Facilities and Game Day Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational success of athletic events and maintaining high standards for facilities. This position requires a proactive and organized individual who can effectively manage resources, coordinate logistics, and foster a safe and welcoming environment for all stakeholders involved in athletic events.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or
related field.
• Previous experience in athletic facilities management, event planning, or operations management.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations applicable to athletic facilities.
