Job description

As a Senior Media Planner, you're a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of data, consumer behavior, and business objectives. You know that great media plans do more than reach audiences-they move businesses forward. You partner with clients and internal teams to develop integrated media strategies that are rooted in insight, optimized through performance, and designed to deliver measurable results.

This role leads the planning, activation, optimization, and measurement of complex media campaigns across traditional and digital channels. You're equally comfortable diving into platform data, presenting strategic recommendations to clients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build campaigns that connect with audiences in meaningful ways. Beyond your own work, you're a trusted resource for teammates, sharing expertise, mentoring others, and helping elevate the agency's media capabilities.

THE TASK AT HAND

  • Lead the development of integrated media strategies based on business objectives, consumer insights, and campaign goals.
  • Develop media plans, audience strategies, and channel recommendations across traditional and digital media.
  • Create campaign architecture and traffic campaigns across platforms including Meta, Google Ads, The Trade Desk, Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, and others as appropriate.
  • Manage campaign budgets, pacing, optimization, and performance throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Analyze campaign data and translate performance into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop testing strategies that improve campaign performance and drive continuous learning.
  • Present media strategies, campaign results, and optimization recommendations to clients with confidence and clarity.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Creative, Account, and Analytics teams to deliver integrated marketing solutions.
  • Mentor Media Planners and Media Coordinators through collaboration, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute strategic media expertise to agency new business pitches and client growth opportunities.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 5-7 years of experience in media planning, buying, and campaign optimization across digital and traditional channels.
  • Proven experience developing and leading integrated media strategies across digital and traditional channels.
  • Expertise in self-service media platforms including Google Ads, Meta, The Trade Desk, Amazon, and other leading advertising platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
  • Comfortable presenting media strategies and campaign performance to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Naturally collaborative and enjoys mentoring teammates while continuing to expand your own expertise.
  • Critical thinker who proactively identifies opportunities, solves problems, and challenges conventional thinking.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and experienced working with media planning, reporting, and analytics tools.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Advertising, Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Local to the Greater Minneapolis area and able and willing to work in-office up to three days per week.
WHO WE ARE

To be what others can't, you have to do what they won't. We are SixSpeed, a full-service advertising agency that is employee-owned, audience-first, and built to deliver big ideas at speed. We're here to make the world's most adventurous brands impossible to imitate.

This role offers a salary range of $65,000 to $80,000* per year.

*Don't let this range drive your decision to apply. Actual compensation packages are based on the level of skill and experience each candidate brings to their role. Similarly, there may be a more senior or junior position available that would be a better fit with your expertise. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the requirements of the position.
