Position Overview

The Director of Advertising Sales and Media Operations will play a key leadership role in advancing NACS Media through the day-to-day management of the advertising team and will have a hands-on execution-focused role with advertising operations, production, marketing, budgeting, financial analysis and new business development.

This role reports to the Publisher & Editor-in-Chief, NACS Media, and serves as a member of the NACS Media team, the leading source of insights and analysis for the convenience industry across all platforms.

Success in this role requires a passion for the operational details of running a business, including leading and developing people. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on contributor who embraces continuous improvements, drives innovation, and is committed to the overall success of NACS.

The role is based on-site at NACS headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Lead revenue generation across all platforms of NACS Media, including new business development, with a focus on new monetization strategies for events and products.
  • Manage advertising team, currently consisting of two sales representatives.
  • Manage the overall advertising process, including ad operations, customer service, fulfillment, marketing/promotions and the use of technology and technology partners across all platforms.
  • Prospect, develop and close new advertising and sponsorship business; manage and grow an assigned territory; develop customized proposals integrating print, digital, event and content marketing opportunities.
  • Be a champion and power user of a new enterprise-wide CRM.
  • Play a critical role building strategies and tactics for growth of NACS Media and NACS as an organization, including audience development, overall operations and marketing.
  • Play a critical day-to-day execution role in managing organizational budgets and creating forecasts and profit-and-loss analysis; serve as hands-on, detail-oriented problem solver for the team.
  • Explore new business opportunities, both within NACS Media and as part of the evolution and growth of the larger organization.
  • Build exceptional ties across the industry with supplier partners; develop a comprehensive understanding of the convenience industry supplier ecosystem.
  • Assist in building a KPI- and data-driven association metrics across all aspects of media and communications.

Salary Range:$120,000.00 to $135,000 annually plus commissions. Actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, skills, and other qualifications.
