Sales Associate
Reports To:
Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager
General Purpose
Process customer payments, manage the cash drawer, assist customers with orders, verify references, and help increase sales.
Essential Duties

Customer Service & Sales

●       Answer incoming calls politely and direct them to the right person.
 
 
●       Assist customers with choosing merchandise and completing order forms.
 
 
●       Verify customer information and schedule delivery times.
 
 
●       Follow up with customers within three days of delivery to ensure satisfaction.
 
 

Payments & Records

●       Enter all payments into the computer (in-store, delivery, or mailed payments).
 
 
●       Maintain responsibility for the cash drawer.
 
 
●       Create and maintain customer folders with up-to-date information.
 
 
●       Complete rental/lease agreements and enter them into the system.
 
 

Showroom & Inventory

●       Spend the first two hours of each day cleaning, organizing, and pricing the showroom.
 
 
●       Make sure products are clean, tagged, working, and ready for demonstration.
 
 
●       Prepare returned merchandise to be showroom-ready within 48 hours.
 
 
●       Ensure all pricing follows company guidelines.
 
 

Deliveries

●       Prepare items at least one hour before scheduled delivery.
 
 
●       Help plan delivery routes to reduce time and cost.
 
 

Advertising & Promotions

●       Understand current advertising campaigns and explain them clearly to customers.
 
 
●       Help maintain in-store advertising and hand-billing programs.
 
 
Other Duties
●       Keep track of remote controls and owner’s manuals for all inventory.
 
 
●       Assist in finding creative ways to attract new customers and increase agreements.
 
 
Requirements
●       High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
 
 
●       One year of retail experience.
 
 
●       Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
 
 
Required Skills
●       Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
 
 
●       Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
 
 
●       Ability to handle customer conflicts professionally.
 
 
●       After training, strong knowledge of store electronics and mechanical products.
