Job description

Student Assistant Position

The Office of Advancement is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, conscientious student assistant. Student may be asked to assist with any of the following types of work:

  • Special project related to alumni and donor record review and organization
  • Help coordinate different fundraising events including but not limited to Woods Giving Day
  • Produce reports using sophisticated fundraising software (training provided)
  • Make calls to set up appointments with potential donors (scripts provided)
  • Make calls to follow-up with donors with scheduled visits, outstanding pledges, etc.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as copying, shredding, filing, and other processes
  • Assist with the folding, stuffing and stamping of small quantity mailings

Requirements

  • Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, initiative, and a positive attitude
  • Exhibits dependability, accuracy, and follows directions well
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Maintains confidentiality related to private donor information; demonstrates integrity
  • Motivated to ask for financial gifts to support SMWC if necessary
  • Projects a pleasant speaking voice, and enjoys talking on the phone
  • Keeps on task and works to accomplish individual and team goals
