Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Climber / Foreman to run crews in the field and perform advanced climbing and rigging operations. This position requires leadership, strong communication skills, and a high level of technical ability in tree pruning and removals.

You will be responsible for jobsite safety, crew productivity, customer interaction, and maintaining industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a tree crew on residential and commercial job sites

  • Perform technical tree climbing, pruning, and removals

  • Execute advanced rigging techniques safely and efficiently

  • Ensure compliance with ANSI Z133 safety standards

  • Apply proper pruning techniques following ISA standards

  • Conduct daily job briefings and enforce safety protocols

  • Operate and oversee the use of chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment

  • Communicate clearly with clients and maintain professional jobsite presence

  • Train and mentor crew members

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional tree climbing experience

  • Experience leading crews preferred

  • Strong knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards

  • Working knowledge of ISA pruning standards (or willingness to continuously improve)

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in heat and variable conditions
