Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

  • Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
  • Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.
  • Produces quality ultrasound images to support patient care activities to include General, OB/GYN, and Vascular procedures.
  • Assess patient's condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performed and to establish medical necessity.
  • Evaluate patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic procedures including duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressure measurements and active or passive hyperemic challenge.
  • Record test results and report the results to the physician upon completion of testing. Document and prepare patient records for review and interpretation by physician, including the selection, recording, cross-referencing of significant or representative studies. Prepare a complete and accurate written report for subsequent review and signature.

Required:

  • Vocational School - Must have completed an accredited Sonography program
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days of hire
  • One of the following:
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
