What is an advanced practice provider manager?

An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager is a healthcare professional responsible for overseeing teams of advanced practice providers, such as nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). They manage staffing, scheduling, professional development, and ensure providers adhere to clinical standards and policies. APP Managers also help coordinate patient care, implement best practices, and may be involved in hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Outstanding interpersonal skills, team leadership, and conflict resolution abilities help foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. These competencies are crucial for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory adherence, and effective team performance in healthcare settings.
