Job Description:

Quadrus Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Additive Manufacturing Technician to support metal 3D printing operations at our advanced manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL. In this hands-on role, you will operate and maintain selective laser melting machines (Concept Laser experience preferred), including machine preparation, preventive maintenance, powder handling/sieving, post-processing (powder and support removal, cleaning), build monitoring, defect identification, metallurgical sample preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing, etching, microscopy), and independent part inspection using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and surface plates. You will troubleshoot mechanical, optical, laser, and electrical issues, execute process improvements to reduce downtime, pull tensile bars, and collaborate with engineers while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and quality standards. Flexibility to work overtime, shifts, and weekends.

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • 3+ years of metal additive manufacturing experience
  • Hands-on experience operating multiple selective lasers melting platforms
  • Experience working with additive manufacturing post processes

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing environment

  • Proficiency with precision inspection methods and tools (surface plate, calipers, micrometers, height gauge)
  • Experience operating machine tools including metallographic grinders, media blasters, powder sieves, and powder cranes
  • 5+ years of technician experience in aerospace, military, automotive racing, marine, energy, oil & gas, or similar high-tech industries
  • Ability to read and understand operation manuals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs with strong manual dexterity and skilled operation of machinery and hand/power tools
  • Ability to climb ladders and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Willingness to work overtime, flexible shift schedules, and weekends when required
  • Exceptional organization and attention-to-detail for tracking parts, measurements, and processes


Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED plus
  • 2-year degree in an aerospace technician, manufacturing technician, or additive manufacturing technician program.
