Job description

ProspectBlue is partnering with a well-established, employee-owned organization in Richmond to identify a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity to join a positive, collaborative workplace with room for professional growth and the option for a hybrid work schedule.


We’re looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys being hands-on and working across a variety of accounting functions.


What You’ll Do:

  • Process and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Support timely collections and disbursements
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting
  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Perform account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate repetitive tasks


What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR and general accounting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
  • Experience with macros or process automation is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
