HR Generalist

Grand Rapids, MI

Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Onsite to start | Hybrid opportunity (1–2 days/week) after first 90 days
A growing manufacturing company in Grand Rapids is looking to add an HR Generalist to their team. The office environment is professional yet relaxed, with a business casual dress code (jeans are welcome), a small and friendly team atmosphere, and a quieter/open-office setup.

Responsibilities:
  • Process employee updates and transitions within the HRIS system
  • Update titles, supervisors, pay rates, and workflow information
  • Process terminations and maintain accurate employee records
  • File and organize HR documentation
  • Answer employee questions regarding policies and handbook procedures
  • Assist with drafting and updating job descriptions
  • Support general HR administrative functions as needed
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Prior HRIS experience
  • At least 6 months of HR administrative experience or HR internship experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, totals, SUM functions, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Open to candidates with strong office administration or office management backgrounds, even without a degree

Preferred:

  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
