Job description

CHI LakeWood Health provides long-term care, family practice-clinic, 15-bed critical-access hospital, public health and assisted living services. Nestled in Baudette, MN, just minutes from Lake of the Woods and Zippel Bay State Park. Enjoy nature's playground, lake living, trails, unique shopping, and dining! As our EMT, you'll be responsible for the pre-hospital care and transportation of citizens in Breckenridge’s primary service area (PSA) and surrounding PSA’s as requested through mutual aid. Your keen attention to detail will show though equipment checks and basic maintenance of the vehicle. Additionally, you must keep records of the vehicle use and patient contacts through North Dakota (Wahpeton and Richardland County) and Minnesota. Continual evaluation and improvement of your skills as an EMT and our Service to the community will be reviewed regularly.  

To thrive in this role, you'll demonstrate excellent verbal skills; the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and abiltiy to adhere to the physical demands. Our EMTs must be able to attend 2/3 of our monthly meetings and makeup any information/skills that were covered in meetings missed. As an EMT, you should respond to a minimum of 12 calls per year. We will also consider contributions to the group in other areas such as scheduled stand-by times for high school games and county events. Our EMTs must complete our service driving curriculum and driving evaluation, in addition to driving history review.

To be successful in this role, you will provide a safe and skilled transport of patients to the appropriate healthcare facility, providing treatments and interventions as allowed in our policy/procedures.

  • Learn the safe operation of equipment in and related to the ambulance department
  • Report any need for repair immediately to the director or fleet maintenance personnel
  • Must be familiar with city and county roads
  • Uses proper lifting techniques and follows established procedures during the course of work
  • Understands and follows safety procedures specifically related to job duties

We are offering a $7,000 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
