WisEngineering, LLC is currently interviewing candidates for an immediate or near term position with our company in support of ongoing Department of Defense programs at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. Candidate must be US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.  Successful candidate will be a direct (W2) employee of WisEngineering.  
 
Location: On Site Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ 
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: 60,000 to 90,000 
 
 
Sr. Packaging Engineer 

Location: Picatinny Arsenal 

Travel Required: Up to 25%

Role Overview

We are seeking a Packaging Engineer  to provide production engineering support for advanced armaments packing and packaging systems. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), leading the planning and execution of design, development, and product improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate blends deep technical engineering expertise with exceptional communication skills, capable of pitching product improvements to prospective clients and presenting complex technical concepts at industry conferences and briefings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Packaging Engineer: Act as the primary packaging authority within cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), guiding product design and technical execution.

  • Lead Engineering Lifecycle: Plan, manage, and execute all technical phases of armament packaging design, development, testing, and production engineering.

  • Drive Product Improvement: Identify optimization opportunities and prepare technical product improvement proposals for prospective clients.

  • Stakeholder & Industry Engagement: Utilize advanced oral and written communication skills to present complex technical data, designs, and strategies at client briefings and conferences.

  • Travel: Travel up to 25% annually for team meetings, customer briefings, and technical conferences.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Technical Background: Strong background in production or packaging engineering, specifically within defense, armaments, or heavily regulated military packing systems.

  • IPT Experience: Proven experience operating as a technical authority  within Integrated Product Teams.

  • Client & Business Acumen: Experience writing technical proposals and presenting solutions to prospective clients.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation and technical writing skills, with the ability to convey high-level technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Mobility: Willingness and availability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with DoD standard packaging, defense contracting, or military transportability requirements.

  • Active Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one), if required by the program.
