An adult nurse practitioner is a highly educated healthcare professional who has completed all the requirements to become a registered nurse (RN) as well as an adult nurse practitioner (ANP). This training includes classroom and clinical learning and specialized education in the medical care of adults. As an ANP, you help patients, from adolescents to adults, by providing medical services, including preventative medicine and treatment for illnesses and diseases. ANPs have completed a graduate degree in nursing and extensive clinical hours, and are licensed to diagnose illness and disease and prescribe medication.
