Job description

Assistant Professor & Coordinator of Adult Education

9‑month tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for the M.S. in Adult Education serves the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education in the College of Education at North Carolina A&T State University.

Through its commitment to civic engagement, transformative research, and creative scholarship, the interdisciplinary Master of Science in Adult Education and Ph.D. in Leadership Studies doctoral program produces leaders who are critical thinkers capable of transforming organizations and institutions to maximize human potential.

Minimum Requirements
  • Doctorate in Adult Education or a closely related discipline with a specialization in Adult Education from an accredited university.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • Record of scholarly productivity. This activity includes manuscript publications in top‑tier peer‑reviewed journals, procurement of extramural funds, and presentations facilitated at well‑respected meetings and conferences.
  • Expertise in research methodology and knowledge of pertinent theories and practices as related to adult education.
  • Proven ability to use adult learning strategies in both face‑to‑face and virtual settings.
  • Ability to work with diverse adult populations in academic and professional working relationships.
  • Experience providing high‑quality instruction to graduate candidates.
  • Proven record of serving on dissertation and/or thesis research committees.
