What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in an Adult Day Center, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your work will help promote independence, inclusion, and a sense of community. Here’s what your day-to-day might include:

  • Personal Care & ADL Support: Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, while preserving their independence and dignity.
  • Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide meaningful companionship to reduce isolation, promote emotional well-being, and build trusting relationships.
  • Community Outings & Integration: Support clients in participating in community activities, recreational outings, volunteering, and social engagement.
  • Transportation Services: Ensure clients have safe, reliable transportation to community outing, volunteer work or social events. Transporting participants to and from their day programs or work opportunities daily.
  • Adult Day Services: Participate in structured day programs that provide socialization, skill-building activities, and personal care in a supervised setting.
