What are Adtech Engineers?

Adtech Engineers are technology professionals who design, develop, and maintain software systems used in the digital advertising industry. They work on platforms that enable the buying, selling, targeting, and analysis of online ads, such as ad servers, real-time bidding systems, and data management platforms. Their role often involves integrating advertising technologies, optimizing ad delivery, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Adtech Engineers collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and marketers to deliver effective advertising solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Adtech Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Adtech Engineer, you need a solid background in computer science, programming (especially JavaScript, Python, or Java), and a clear understanding of digital advertising technologies and protocols. Familiarity with ad servers, programmatic platforms (like Google Ad Manager or The Trade Desk), SDKs, APIs, and industry certifications such as IAB Digital Ad Operations are highly valued. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills help you navigate complex integrations and work effectively with product, sales, and analytics teams. These skills are essential to optimize ad delivery, ensure technical compliance, and drive successful advertising outcomes in a rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Strength in Trust

OneTrust's mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn't slow teams down—it should accelerate what's possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. OneTrust, the AI‑Ready Governance Platform™, unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows so businesses can continue to move at the speed of AI while ensuring good governance to prevent data misuse at scale. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.

The Challenge

As organizations accelerate AI, data collaboration, and digital engagement, consent and preferences have become foundational infrastructure—not just compliance tooling. Enterprises must orchestrate user permissions across web, mobile, CTV, CRM, and data ecosystems while enabling trusted activation for marketing and AI use cases. OneTrust is investing in a specialized Consent & Preferences Sales motion to lead this category.

Your Mission

You will serve as the domain expert and revenue driver for the Consent & Preferences (C&P) portfolio, partnering closely with Account Executives, Solutions Engineering, and Product to win high-impact deals.

  • Drive net new logo acquisition and expansion within strategic enterprise customers

  • Lead complex consultative sales cycles tied to AI readiness and first-party data strategy

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Marketing, Data, and Security

  • Partner with Solutions Engineering to design end-to-end architectures (CMP, UCPM, identity, data clean rooms)

  • Differentiate OneTrust against point vendors and platform competitors

  • Influence GTM strategy and provide feedback to Product and Sales leadership

You Are
  • A strategic seller with deep subject matter expertise

  • Comfortable selling to C-level executives

  • Highly consultative with strong value-based selling skills

  • Able to whiteboard architectures and shape customer thinking

  • Disciplined in pipeline, forecasting, and deal execution

Your Experience Includes

  • 6-8+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience

  • Track record of closing complex $250K+ deals

  • Experience in consent, privacy, data governance, or MarTech/AdTech ecosystems

  • Strong technical selling capability across platforms and integrations

  • Experience running executive-level discovery conversations

Highly Preferred

  • Experience with CMPs, preference management, or identity orchestration

  • Familiarity with Adobe, Snowflake, CDPs, or clean rooms

  • CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar certifications

  • Training in MEDDPICC, Value Selling, or Command of Message
