What does an adoptions coordinator do?

An Adoptions Coordinator is responsible for managing the process of adopting animals from shelters or rescue organizations. They screen potential adopters, match them with suitable animals, conduct interviews, and provide education on pet care and responsibilities. Additionally, they handle paperwork, facilitate meet-and-greet sessions, and ensure that all animals are placed in safe and loving homes. Their work helps reduce animal homelessness and supports successful, long-term adoptions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an adoptions coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Adoptions Coordinator, you need a background in social work, psychology, or a related field, often supported by a relevant degree and experience in child welfare or animal care.
