Job Description

We are looking for an AEM Engineering Lead to architect, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade Adobe Experience Manager solutions within their product area. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid.

Due to our end client, candidates must be able to work on CAI's W2 without a need for sponsorship now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and drive the technical vision for AEM development across the product area.

  • Architect enterprise-grade AEM solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.

  • Establish and enforce best practices for AEM development, including performance, security, and monitoring.

  • Lead technical decision-making and evaluate new AEM capabilities and Adobe ecosystem tools.

  • Create technical design specifications and translate high-level architecture into working AEM implementations.

  • Design, develop, and support AEM components, integrations, and applications on AEM 6.5 LTS.

  • Expert-level OSGi knowledge, including lifecycle management, bundle deployment, and debugging.

  • Hands-on expertise with Apache Sling, JCR repository operations, and event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka.

  • Configure and optimize AEM Dispatcher caching strategies and integrate Adobe marketing tools such as Target and Analytics.

  • Build and maintain REST APIs and front-end architecture using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux, and Ant Design.

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, and Nexus artifact management.

  • Ensure robust testing practices for AEM components and integrations using JUnit, PowerMock/Mockito, Jest, and Enzyme.

  • Monitor and optimize AEM performance, caching, and content delivery.

  • Maintain high standards for code quality, security, and reliability using tools like SonarQube and ESLint.

  • Mentor AEM developers and conduct code reviews to drive engineering best practices.

  • Lead remote and distributed engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams, product, design, and delivery teams to translate requirements into AEM solutions.

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure engineering progress aligns with roadmaps and timelines.

  • Maintain awareness of engineering health across all technology layers of the product.

  • Identify cross-layer risks, dependencies, and blockers; escalate proactively.

  • Ensure AEM content delivery and integrations align with the needs of other client platforms and backend services.

  • Stay current with AEM platform evolution and content management trends.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies for the content and experience layer.

  • Drive adoption of modern AEM practices, cloud-native patterns, and front-end architecture improvements.

What You'll Need

Required

  • 4+ years of experience implementing Adobe AEM 6.5 / AEM 6.5 LTS.

  • Strong prior experience as a software developer and senior technical design resource.

  • Deep expertise in AEM architecture, Apache Sling, OSGi Declarative Services, and Java 8+ (ready to adopt Java 21).

  • Expert-level knowledge of OSGi lifecycle management and dependency injection.

  • Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architecture.

  • Strong front-end skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux, and Webpack.

  • Experience with AEM Dispatcher configuration, caching strategies, and cache invalidation.

  • Experience with REST APIs, caching, message queues, and NoSQL databases.

  • Proficiency with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, Maven builds, and CRX Package Manager workflows.

  • Experience delivering mission-critical systems in a mature Agile organization.

  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning new technologies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid experience working with offshore teams and driving work through closure across distributed teams.

  • Clear ownership mindset with end-to-end accountability.

Preferred

  • Experience with Apache Solr for search indexing and content discovery.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Target, Analytics, and personalization strategies.

  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and cloud deployment pipelines.

  • Experience integrating AEM with headless/decoupled front-end architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce applications and multi-brand content platforms.

  • Familiarity with SonarQube, PMD, CheckStyle, and code quality gate enforcement.

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
