Job description

Title: Graphics System Workflow Engineer

Reports to: Chief Information Officer

Status: Full-time

FLSA: Non-exempt

Summary

The Graphics System Workflow Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and continuously improving automated workflows that support the end-to-end graphics production process. This role works at the intersection of Graphics, IT, and Operations to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable processing of customer artwork through production systems. This position plays a key role in identifying process bottlenecks, resolving technical issues, and deploying new technologies to enhance production efficiency and support business growth.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Workflow Development & Automation
    1. Design, build, and maintain automated workflows for graphics production using tools such as Esko Automation Engine and related technologies
    2. Analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement scalable improvements
    3. Implement workflow enhancements to reduce manual effort and improve consistency, accuracy, and speed
  2. Systems Administration & Support
    1. Administer and support graphics collaboration platforms (e.g., WebCenter) including projects, templates, workflows, and user access
    2. Troubleshoot and resolve workflow, file, and system integration issues across graphics systems
    3. Ensure reliable operation of automated workflows and production systems
  3. Process Improvement & Optimization
    1. Evaluate end-to-end graphics processes to drive continuous improvement and standardization
    2. Partner cross-functionally to align workflows with business requirements and production goals
    3. Lead or support process improvement initiatives that enhance throughput, quality, and turnaround time
  4. Technology Implementation & Integration
    1. Support the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new graphics and workflow technologies
    2. Assist with system integrations between graphics platforms and upstream/downstream business systems
    3. Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    1. Work closely with Graphics, Account Services, Production, and IT teams to support operational needs
    2. Provide technical expertise and support to internal users and external customers
    3. Communicate system capabilities, limitations, and recommended improvements
  6. Documentation & Training
    1. Document workflows, procedures, and technical solutions to support standardization and knowledge transfer
    2. Develop and deliver training related to workflow tools, systems, and process changes
    3. Support adoption of new technologies and process improvements
  7. Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  8. May perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires education as is generally acquired through four (4) years of college with a degree in Computer science or Information Technology; or a combination of education and relevant professional experience that provides equivalent expertise.
  2. Proficiency with Mac OS.
  3. Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office
  4. Strong experience with Esko products (Automation Engine, WebCenter, etc.) or other workflow automation, scripting, or system integration tools
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  7. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  8. Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency
  9. High attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and consistency
  10. Familiarity with XML, JavaScript, or other automation-related technologies preferred
