Job description

Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L., a civil defense law firm with offices in Florida and New York, seeks an experienced full-time litigation Legal Assistant with a minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance defense for our Tampa Bay office.

The candidate must be highly organized, fully computer literate, and proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff. Excellent organizational skills are essential for maintaining digital records — we are a paperless firm. The role includes preparing pleadings and correspondence, scheduling meetings, depositions, and mediations, filing pleadings in state and federal portals, and maintaining the attorney's calendar. Applicants should be punctual and interested in a stable, long-term position.

Responsibilities:

Manage files for litigation matters from inception to post-trial

Prioritize workload based on deadlines

File pleadings with state and federal portals

Communicate with attorneys to assist in all aspects of litigation

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years' insurance defense experience (required)

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Knowledge of Florida's state e-filing portal; CM/ECF and PACER

Knowledge of court procedures for scheduling hearings and submitting orders; Aderant Expert Sierra a plus

Detail-oriented self-starter with excellent verbal and written skills
