AspectAdo NetEntity Framework
TypeData Access TechnologyObject-Relational Mapper (ORM)
UsageDirect database operations, SQL commandsAbstraction over database, code-first approach
ComplexityRequires manual SQL managementSimplifies data handling with LINQ
PerformanceFaster for simple queriesOverhead due to abstraction, but optimized
Learning CurveModerate, SQL knowledge neededHigher, ORM concepts required

In summary, Ado Net provides direct control over database operations, making it suitable for performance-critical tasks. Entity Framework offers a higher level of abstraction, simplifying development with LINQ and reducing boilerplate code, ideal for rapid application development.

How does ADO.NET work?

ADO.NET is a data access technology used by developers to interact with databases in .NET applications. It works by establishing a connection to a database, executing commands or queries, and retrieving or updating data through objects like Connection, Command, DataReader, and DataSet. This allows for efficient data manipulation and integration within software projects, often requiring knowledge of SQL and database management.
