As a member of the Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Admissions team, and as the initial point of contact for the department, the Admissions Representative delivers exceptional customer service to a varied audience, including prospective and current predoctoral and postdoctoral dental applicants and entering students, faculty, staff and others. Using excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, the Admissions Representative provides tailored information and support to individuals inquiring in-person, by telephone and via email. The incumbent facilitates and enhances a seamless, positive applicant experience.
- The Admissions Representative establishes a welcoming environment and efficiently manages front office operations, supervises student employees and coordinates operational logistics for the department.
- The staff member implements communication strategies through a customer relations management system, ensuring that timely and targeted messaging reaches the appropriate audiences, and participates in the coordination and delivery of associated virtual and in-person events such as information sessions and visit days.
- The Admissions Representative plays a central role in facilitating the receipt, tracking and processing of electronic forms ensuring the efficient and accurate enrollment of admitted predoctoral and postdoctoral students in a timely manner, while maintaining confidential information.
- Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Representative provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Admissions, the Director of Admissions, and the Assistant Director, while supervising student employees.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience to the requirements section.
- Must have demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong communicator required to communicate information concisely and effectively to various constituents - faculty, department chairs, students, applicants, various departments across BU.
