Job Description Summary

The University Advancement team at Bentley University is looking for a Slate Analyst to assist in managing the software, reporting and analytics, and to serve as a Slate expert.
Reporting to the Director, Advancement Systems & Reporting, this role will be responsible for building strong partnerships with all stakeholders across the division to provide data and analysis.
The Slate Analyst plays a key role in supporting University Advancement, specifically by supporting the daily functions of Slate. This role will serve as a Slate expert with specific responsibility for functionality around portals, dashboards, queries, and reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining, enhancing, and auditing Slate queries, reports, and dashboards, specializing in areas of Donor Relations and Annual Giving.

  • Create complex segmented queries, reports and dashboards using Technolutions Slate platform.

  • Develop forms and portal templates, email templates and portals utilizing CSS, Java Script and Liquid Mark-up, for both internal and external constituents.

  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure proper Q&A of all forms and portals.

  • Help users understand and apply best practices to maximize organizational and business performance.

  • Foster ways to drive data-driven decision-making throughout all units.

  • Create and manage an array of dashboards to measure key performance indicators for UA and create/maintain reports and analytics for the division.

  • Utilize advanced Slate reporting by modifying, delivering and creating custom reports.

  • Troubleshoot report-related issues and resolve them on time.

  • Exercise confidentiality, professionalism, and independent judgment in handling confidential information and adhering to governance standard requirements.

  • Stay current with Slate product enhancements.

  • Provide ongoing training and technical support to campus users of Slate.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline required.

  • A minimum of three years of experience in the field of information technology, database management or related discipline required.

  • Candidate required to have a thorough knowledge of Technolutions Slate and full understanding of Portals, Deliver, Events, Workflows, Fields and Prompts, Queries and Reports, Rules, and Upload Datasets.

  • Highly analytical and structured thinking.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems on time.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.

  • Good time management, organizational and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Advancement Operations is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum three years of Slate-specific experience in Enrollment and/or Advancement strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of three years related experience; Power BI, SQL, CSS or JavaScript strongly preferred.

  • Experience solving reporting and dashboard issues through root-cause analysis, deep understanding of cross-stream and down-stream impacts is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office setting with extensive computer work and sitting.

  • Ability to travel within and outside of campus for work related meetings and events, travel may occur outside of normal business hours including nights and weekends.

  • This role offers a flexible work arrangement, combining in-person attendance with remote work. On-site presence is required based on business needs, team collaboration, or scheduled meetings. Scheduling specifics will be determined in conjunction with the manager. As with any flexible arrangement, this is subject to change based on business needs.

Salary Grade Range:

$67,960 - $113,126
