Job description

Assistant Director of Admission, South Asia

As an assistant director of admission, you will manage a caseload of prospective students, focusing on high-strategic-fit public, private, and boarding schools within your assigned region. You will foster ongoing professional and institutional relationships in the territory by attending school-specific special events, information sessions, and other recruitment events where you will interact with students and their families. After such events, you will follow up with prospective students by phone or email to discuss their interests and address inquiries about the admission process and opportunities at SCAD. In preparation for events, you will create compelling presentations for diverse audiences that use storytelling techniques to showcase all SCAD has to offer. Additionally, you will participate in LivePerson and online chat sessions to reach students at various points throughout the admission cycle.

In this role, you will review and evaluate files to ensure completeness of right-fit student applications and adherence to admission requirements. You will proactively communicate with applicants and admitted students in your territory to ensure they fully understand the options and opportunities at SCAD. Among other duties, you will assist prospective students through the application and enrollment process with personalized counseling. Responsibilities include accurate recordkeeping, database maintenance, and management of active applicant files, including document tracking and communication with applicants. You will remain up to date on all university policies and procedures to communicate accurate information about SCAD. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to engage diverse audiences. They work well independently and are passionate about art and design education. The candidate is also enthusiastic about promoting SCAD's mission and values.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in computer databases and office productivity software
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Banner and Salesforce experience
  • Previous experience in college admissions, student recruitment, or a related field

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport

Travel required:

  • More than 50%

Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
