Job Description

Radford University is seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Director of Admissions to join our team at the Radford University Carilion campus in Roanoke, Virginia. This position plays a vital role in advancing the University's enrollment goals by managing a designated recruitment territory, cultivating meaningful relationships with prospective students and families, and serving as a key ambassador for Radford University and its academic programs.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for the full scope of territory recruitment - from prospect generation and high school outreach to college fairs, community college visits, and yield initiatives. This individual will develop and implement strategic, territory-specific recruitment plans, including leveraging social media platforms to engage prospective students throughout the recruitment and yield process. Building and nurturing partnerships with area high schools, community-based organizations, and community partners will be central to this role.
In addition to regional recruitment responsibilities, this position serves as the primary on-campus contact for daily prospective student visits and group tours at Radford University Carilion, delivering a welcoming, informative, and professional admissions experience in collaboration with the Campus Visit team.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, goal-oriented, and detail-focused, with the ability to multitask, work independently, and thrive as part of a small, collaborative team. Comfort working autonomously is essential. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and computer skills are required, along with a genuine passion for working with diverse student populations and families.
This position requires the ability to travel both in and out of state in support of recruitment initiatives, as well as the ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Required Qualifications

Prior work experience in the field of Admissions, Marketing, or related field.
Must be able to conduct extensive local travel for recruitment
Must hold a valid driver's license and good driving record
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to provide direct outreach through excellent written and verbal communication skills
Manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to focus on details to oversee recruitment territory
Have a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated relevant experience in Admissions, Marketing, or related field
Experience working with a Student Information System (SIS) and a Customer Relations Management (CRM) software
Experience in developing and managing presentations through public speaking with diverse constituencies
Prior experience in admissions, student services, or related higher education settings
Possess a minimum of 2 years' relevant admissions experience and a willingness to travel
Fluency in Spanish
