Position Information
Position Title Admissions Ambassador Unit Name Admissions Salary Grade Student (Institutional) Number of Months Student Worker Full-time or Part-time Part-Time Hours per week Less than 20 hours per week. Proposed Annual Salary, Hourly Rate or One-time payment Essential Duties
  • Meet with prospective students and their families and cover student life, academic options, and the application process.
  • Aid in Telecounseling.
  • Assisting the Admissions Office with daily office duties, recruitment events, conducting tours, meeting with prospective students and parents, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • All members must maintain a minimum of 12 hours per semester and a 2.5 or better grade point average.
  • All members must work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • All members must conduct a required number of campus tours.
  • Ambassadors may be asked to participate in activities that occur, not only during the day, but possibly at night or during the weekend.
  • All members will attend college days and/or nights at an assigned school. They will also make recruiting visits with MUW Admissions Counselors during the year.
  • In order to be eligible to apply for a Student Ambassador position, a student must have at least a 2.5 cumulative G.P.A. and have been a student at MUW for an entire academic year.
Job Description Summary
The W Ambassadors support the recruitment of potential students as an extension of the Office of Admissions. An Ambassador must represent the best of what The W Student Body has to offer. Our Admissions Student Ambassadors meet with prospective students and their families as part of their campus visit experience. They cover a broad range of topics, including student life, academic options, and the application process. Our Student Ambassadors are trained by our Admissions Counselors, and many are active in leadership positions across campus. Ambassadors will also aid in our Telecounseling efforts. Telecounseling is a recruitment strategy aimed at building relationships with prospective students over the telephone. It consists of frequent, ongoing telephone contact at critical points in each person's decision-making process.
