Job Summary:

Administrative assistants oversee routine and advanced duties for other professionals. They work closely with administrators and other employees to organize files, create correspondence, and prepare reports or documents. Their job is to complete a range of clerical tasks including managing calendars, and preparing invoices. Administrative assistants may also be responsible for helping to plan events and managing their supervisors’ schedules. The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of individuals assigned to this job. The Credentialing Specialist ensures that all our medical staff members have the necessary qualifications for their position. This will involve looking into their work and education history, confirming their certifications with the appropriate organizations, and keeping track of expiration dates and renewals. You must also stay up to date on industry regulations and company policies to make sure our employees keep up with any changes. Our ideal specialist has an associate degree in a field like health information management and experience in medical administration.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Confirm the education and work history of our employees that need to be credentialed.
  • Audit potential hires (MD’s and CRNA’s) to ensure they meet our standards.
  • Keep track of expiration dates and let employees (MD’s and CRNA’s) know when they need to renew.
  • Update company standards when regulations change.
  • Keep a database of all employee credentials (MD’s and CRNA’s) .
  • Works in excel and word documents.
  • Assists with ordering when Material manager is off.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Associate degree in a medical administration field (preferred)
  •  Minimum of five (2) years’ advanced Administrative skills. 
  • Healthcare experience desirable. 
  • A background in Human Resources, supervision and/or management desirable.
