Position Scope

The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential administrative support to the Human Resources team with a primary focus on employee benefits administration, employee data management, and HR operations. This role will serve as a key point of contact for employees regarding benefit programs, enrollment, eligibility, life events, and benefit-related questions while ensuring accurate and timely processing of benefit changes.

In addition to benefits administration, this position will support core HR processes including new hires, terminations, onboarding and offboarding, employee record maintenance, payroll updates, and HR reporting. The HR Coordinator plays an important role in delivering a seamless employee experience while ensuring PACK Power’s HR processes are accurate, compliant, confidential, and consistently administered.

Location & Travel: This is an onsite position based out of our office in Fargo, ND.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit programs, eligibility, enrollment, and general benefit questions.
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations across applicable benefit platforms and HR systems.
  • Process and maintain benefit changes related to new hires, qualifying life events, status changes, and terminations.
  • Support annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications, enrollment materials, system updates, and follow-up.
  • Enter and maintain employee information, ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
  • Maintain organized and confidential benefit documentation and employee records.
  • Support employees with benefit-related forms, documentation, and required follow-up.
  • Assist with onboarding education and communication regarding PACK Power’s benefit offerings.
  • Process new hire, transfer, promotion, and termination transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain personnel files, ensuring compliance with federal and state recordkeeping requirements.
  • Update employee tax, direct deposit, and personal information changes.
  • Prepare and coordinate new hire paperwork, offer letters, background checks, and I-9 completion.
  • Support HR and hiring managers in executing offboarding checklists, equipment returns, and final documentation.
  • Communicate payroll updates, deductions, and changes to the Payroll Department as needed.
  • Maintain accurate I-9 files and assist with periodic audits.
  • Assist with unemployment claims, verifications of employment, and HR reporting requests.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the HR Generalist and HR leadership.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare HR communications, and support engagement or recognition initiatives.
  • Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and employee file audits as assigned.
  • Support workers' compensation claims, FMLA compliance, and employee leaves of absence.

Education and Work Experience

  • Prior experience in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, or benefits administration preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Take reasonable care of yourself and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the goal of zero injuries. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws preferred
